Better Thinking
Happens on
the Trail_
Clarity on the decisions that keep you up at night. Executive coaching for senior tech leaders - on Pacific Northwest trails, starting with a free hike.
You're stuck in a loop
You keep having the same strategic conversation in your head. Walking breaks the pattern - research shows lateral thinking improves measurably when you move.
You need space to think
No Slack, no calendar, no glass-walled conference room. The trail strips away performance and creates the space your brain actually needs.
You want a peer, not a process
Side-by-side on the trail, the dynamic is two people solving a problem together. Vulnerability happens naturally when you're not staring across a table.

Coaching from Someone Who's Already Been There
"I spent 20 years building and leading product and engineering teams. I've managed layoffs, navigated acquisitions, and made decisions I lost sleep over.
I became a coach because the leaders I admired most had one thing in common: someone they could think with. That's what I offer.
All sessions are confidential."
What Clients Say
Field Reports"I was six months into a director role and already running on fumes. Marc helped me see that I was solving everyone's problems except my own. After three hikes, I restructured my 1:1s and reclaimed 10 hours a week."
"We were stuck between two product directions and I couldn't think clearly in the office. Walking through it with Marc, the answer was obvious within an hour. We shipped the right thing and closed our Series A two months later."
"I needed to process a reorg that eliminated half my team. Marc gave me space to grieve and then plan. Three months later, the team I rebuilt is the highest-performing in the org."
Common Questions
Where do we hike?
Trails across the greater Seattle area - from Discovery Park to North Bend and everywhere in between. When you book, you'll pick your preferred zones on a map and we'll find the right trail. We can also do a virtual call where we both commit to get outside to 'walk and talk' during our call.
How fit do I need to be?
If you can walk for 90 minutes, you're fine. We set the pace together. This is about conversation, not cardio.
Are sessions confidential?
100%. As an ICF certified coach, I adhere to strict confidentiality guidelines. The trail is often more private than a glass-walled conference room.
What if it rains?
It's Seattle - sometimes rain is part of the deal. We hike in light rain (it's actually great for thinking). If conditions are genuinely bad, we'll reschedule or do a virtual walk-and-talk where we both get outside during the call.
Is this therapy?
No. Coaching is forward-looking - we focus on decisions, goals, and what's next. I don't diagnose or treat. If something comes up that's better suited for therapy, I'll tell you directly and can help you find the right person.
What if I just need one session?
That's completely fine. The free intro hike has no strings. Some people get what they need in one walk. Others come back regularly. There's no pressure either way.
